Bio

I was Born in La Puente, CA, raised in Rancho Cordova, CA, Studied Industrial Technology at Humboldt State University, went to Seminary to be a pastor at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in Iowa. I met my lovely spouse, Barbara, while in college and have been married 30 years. I studied to be a shop teacher in college, but was called to the ministry. I served churches in Potosi, WI, Ruidoso, NM, and Las Animas, CO before becoming a Navy Chaplain. I've been a Chaplain for 17 Years. I have a beautiful Daughter, Hannah, who is 21, and a 4 yr old grandson Jeremiah. I've always been a fitness and outdoors buff, engaging in activities like whitewater kayaking, sailing, climbing, backpacking, mountaineering, and skiing, and cycling. CrossFit is a great way to stay in shape for my active lifestyle, especially as I get older!

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I also swim 5 days a week, and cycle to work when the weathr permits.

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I swam on the High School team my senior year, and ran recreationally in College. I also did a few cycle road races. I enjoy outdoor sports such as kayaking, climbing, and backpacking. And have done sailing races.

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I started doing CrossFit while serving on a one year augment assignment with the Army overseas. I've stuck with it for the last years except while recovering from surgeries to my shoulder and elbow. The CrossFit helped rehab from the repairs.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I strictly schedule my rest days

I do CrossFit 5 days a week, and swim a mile five days a week. My rest days are usually Thursday and Sunday. Sometimes I do multiple CrossFit WODS.
