I am a lucky father of 2 (soon to be 3) children. My wife is an amazing woman. She puts up with me, so she has to be pretty amazing. God has been good to me. My wife and I have a great support network, which allows us breaks away from our children, so we can follow our passion of Crossfit. I am a teacher. What I enjoy most about teaching is watching students grow, becoming their own independent thinkers. In fact, I've decided to improve my bio because one of these independent thinkers gave me a hard time about my previous bio (It was weak, I must admit). It's good to set goals right? So let's set some goals for the next 12 months! My goals for Crossfit in the next 12 months: -Hit a 250 lb Clean and Jerk -String together Muscle Ups (ring and bar) -Handstand walk for at least 2 metres -Become comfortable with Butterfly Pull-ups -Compete in at least one competition with my Crossfit loving friends Goals outside of Crossfit: -Continue to grow in my faith -Find a cool (but not hipster cool) name for our newest child -Try to focus on the positive -Lead by example -Be the best dad/husband I can be
How I Eat
I weigh and measure my food
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I follow a macronutrient tracking diet. I try very hard to stay on point. Eating this way has helped me finally get over the 'fat' hump....for the most part.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I record my workouts
I record benchmark workouts only. I like to know how I have progressed over the years.
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
Nowadays I only have golf, and Crossfit to satisfy my athletic competitive streak. And golf only gets you so far! :)
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
My wife and I were very lucky to find Crossfit Altitude when we first began. We found the coaching, and fellow athletes there to be very welcoming; one big family. CFA is no longer around; but it will forever have a special place in my heart.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I strictly schedule my rest days
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
Now that I am getting older, I can no longer hit it hard 6 days a week. These creaky bones need rest! I try to follow a schedule of: Monday (Gymnastics), Tuesday(WOD), Thursday (Olympic Lifting), Friday(WOD), and Saturday(PARTNER WOD!!!!). If something special is going on I will workout with some friends at another Box on Sundays. If this happens, I will take off the upcoming Tuesday.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I wish I would have discovered Crossfit earlier in my life. I wish I had been Crossfiting for 20 years.
