Started Crossfit in July 2012 with an injured ankle and wearing a protective boot. Since then, I've lost nearly 30lbs through multiple box challenges. I truly feel faster and stronger, and continue to improve my capabilities every month
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I'm probably doing 90/10 paleo. I have a few vices I have trouble getting rid of.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
MAPLE VALLEY CROSS FIT !!!
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
I regularly play recreational sports
Growing up my world typically revolved around baseball, volleyball, and other competitive sports. In my 20s this fell by the wayside and I lost sight of my fitness. Crossfit has allowed me to refocus on fitness and feeling healthy
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
I resisted Crossfit for a long time with the mind set of I can do it for cheaper by myself and with at home fitness routines (p90x). These were great programs to start, but without a community and "family" to help continue to push you to get better, you tend to fall off the wagon. This in turn starts a vicious cycle of being in and out of shape. Crossfit brings structure, and the community that has helped me enjoy working out. Level of fitness doesn't matter as long as you're will to put the time into yourself and commit to improving.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I do multiple workouts in a day 3+ times a week
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
I try to avg 4 to 5 days a week with a rest day on either Wednesday or Thursday and Sunday. This allows me to commit to Friday evening and Saturday workouts which ensure I get my weekend WODs in.
