My background is in track and field, specifically pole vault. Outside of crossfit, I am a neuroscientist working on genetic factors influencing sleep and metabolic diseases.
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
My natural diet (i.e pre-crossfit) that I have followed for the past decade is to eat a variety of fruits, veggies, red meat and chicken, legumes, yogurt, and minimal grains, processed , and fast foods. I do have a soft spot for Ben and Jerry's ice cream and dark chocolate [the two together even better!] though.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
My Athletic Background
I played college sports
I was a four-year varsity letterman in track and field at Brown University, specializing in the field events and hurdles. In graduate school, I continued to compete as an open competitor and still do whenever I can find a competition.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
Friends from college and high school who were also athletes encouraged me to try it.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I do multiple workouts in a day 3+ times a week
