I love CrossFit and how it helps me so much in my day to day life. My gym is wonderful and Team CrossFit RX is rockin' it this year!
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I am a primalish ovo-lacto vegetarian. Ideally I do not eat grains nor sugar, and limit alcohol. Sometimes I meticulously track my food and that's when I do best. When I am very strict, I have fewer cravings and am happier, but sadly the willpower muscle does fatigue....

I have no athletic background besides CrossFit
I was an active kid and in my teens did some biking but was never very interested in sports.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
As an out of shape adult, an exercise boot camp saved me and was the gateway drug to CrossFit. I started running for the first time in my life. Friends introduced me to an affiliate in my neighborhood where I had wonderful coaches (and still do, although different ones). I completed a Level 1 Endurance certification. Peak CrossFit experiences include getting my first unassisted pull up after the age of 50; sumo deadlifting 187 under the coaching of Rudy & Laura (DeMarco) Nielsen; rope swinging while visiting Urban CrossFit; basking in the afterglow of team workouts with my wonderful peeps at CFRX and volunteering for SE Regionals and for the Games!
My Work/Rest Schedule
I usually only do 1 workout a day
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
I bike commute 4 miles roundtrip a day/5 days a week. I go to the gym 3-5 days a week.
