How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
Have always eaten good food. The biggest thing for me since starting Crossfit, is having learnt to cut out sugar and other processed foods. Still love a beer though...
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
Trained for several years by myself (due to location) but got to a point where I needed some proper coaching if I was to progress without injuring myself. Best decision I ever made.
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
I regularly play recreational sports
Played soccer all my life and still play in a Brisbane based masters competition. Have represented for the Air Force and ADF for many years and now represent at masters level.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit by trying it alone (without a coach)
Trained by myself for several years due to geographical location, but got to a point where I needed some proper coaching and decided to join a box back in 2011.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I usually only do 1 workout a day
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
Try to stick to a 3 on/1 off, 2 on/1 off routine but work schedules tend to play havoc with this. Basically, if I'm feeling the love on a training day I'll go hard but if I'm not I'll scale accordingly to avoid injury. Seems to work as I have had very few injuries in the course of my Crossfitting endeavours.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
Picked up on Crossfit back in 2007 whilst looking for some alternate training regimes for my son. There were no affiliates in the Northern Territory back then so I trained by myself at the base gym. Posted back to Brisbane and continued training by myself until joining a box in 2011 and haven't looked back.
