56 yrs old this year. 1 of 6 kids growing up a military brat. Never been happier, healthier or more fit! Married, work full-time in property management and have 2 wonderful children (my son Taylor & daughter Rory). I've always loved athletics and always hated the negatives attached to being a girl (you throw like a girl, run like a girl, etc.) so naturally I was motivated to run faster, throw harder, climb higher, etc. I played basketball, soccer, fastpitch and track in my school years and stayed w/soccer and softball well into my 40s until my kids' sports became our priority. I found CF at 47 and began taking my son and daughter. After they entered college I could train more than their calendars allowed me and at 53 qualified for The Games in 2011 (placed 9th). I placed 2nd in 2013 and am hoping to better that this year. I've been trained by Kurtis & Laurie Bowler my entire 9 years in CF (they are the 8th affiliate). My daughter, Rory Zambard, placed 14th in the 2013 Games. It's my dream to see her podium at the Games and I have no doubt about her making that dream real. I truly love CF, everything about it. I think G.Glassman has created something brilliant.

How I Eat

I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount

I just try to stick to whole foods. Simple. I overate on Paleo so keeping zone blocks in mind helps with that. I cheat when I'm not in training, 1-2 times a week on something I love - mostly always it's chocolate!

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I record my workouts

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I regularly play recreational sports

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course

I have attended one or more specialty courses

Since April 2005. Began competing in events 2010. Both my daughter Rory Zambard and I competed at the Games in 2013 and are hoping to repeat in 2014. What an experience!!

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day

I do multiple workouts in a day 2x a week

I typically rest 4 or more days per month

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

4+ years

This is my 9th year crossfitting at the same affiliate - the 8th in the world - Rainier Crossfit in Sumner, WA with Kurtis and Laurie Bowler. Went with my two highschoolers in prep for college sports in baseball and softball. After they left for school I went more often. I qualified during the 2011 and 2013 Open and finished 9th at The Games in 2011 and 2nd in 2013.
