ATHLETE INFORMATION

How I Eat

I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount

I eat 1-3 full cheat meals per week

I try to be as Paleo as possible without being nuts about it. Have a couple cheat meals per week. Always start my mornings with a Progenex MoreMuscle shake as soon as I roll out of bed and always have a Progenex Recovery post-WOD.

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I record my workouts

I do whatever training is programmed at my box (Crossfit Reston) by a GREAT, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AMAZING ATHLETE (and CF Games veteran): JEFF TINCHER. A typical day consists of a WOD, and if time permits, add in a little strength training of one barbell movement and maybe some gymnastics work.

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I was small in high school so I played on the golf team. I started working out my senior year and began making noticeable gains in size and strength. I continued bodybuilding (not competitively) until 6/2011.

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

My girlfriend is a pretty big deal in CrossFit (placed Top 12 at 2011 CF Games) so I heard about it all the time. She said I could be good if I gave it a chance. I finally got curious enough to see if I was naturally good at any of the movements. I like that it's constantly varied (don't get bored from week to week) and also that she could help me work on deficiencies, techniques, and tips.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day

I typically rest 4 or more days per month

I try to workout 5 days per week with 2 rest days, but the 5th day is usually just a lifting and skillwork day, no WOD. I adjust as needed, depending on how my body feels and my weekend plans.

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

1-2 years

I started 1 week before going out to L.A. to watch my girlfriend compete in the 2011 CF Games.
