I have always enjoyed fitness. I was a 3 sport athlete in high school and played football in college, so being in shape naturally followed suit; but performing at high levels that surpassed competition was my passion. During college football, the offseason was very exciting to me because it was a chance to set new goals both as a team and as an individual. Also, football offered me a chance to push and be pushed to the max by myself, coaches and teammates. After football was over I still visited the gym and I worked out hard when I was there but it wasn’t the same. I missed the camaraderie I had with my teammates and the supportive environment that was conducive to goal-setting and achievement. I tried different gyms, different workout routines, bought P90X for a change of pace but I soon got sick of the routine and the repetitiveness of the workouts. I decided I needed a change and wanted something that was intense. After my first crossfit workout and almost puking, I looked at the coach and said “this is exactly what I was looking for”, and I haven’t turned back since. I found the intense workouts I wanted, the goal setting and competition that I missed in football, and the support of a community that is all about encouragement, going after results and having fun while doing it. CrossFit is more than just a gym, it’s a community that produces lasting relationships next to people that you train hard with. Come get your results!
