My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course

I have attended one or more specialty courses

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit

I train other people

Sometimes I have to remind myself part of the reason I was drawn to Crossfit is it helped get rid of pain. When I began Crossfit in Jan 2009 back pain made it difficult to get out of bed or even stand from sitting! I was timid about doing most exercises due to fear I'd hurt my back further. I was inconsistent about coming to the gym, yet discovered my back pain and other injuries didn't hurt if I worked out frequently. During a drop in class at Crossfit Santa Cruz in July 2010 Hollis challenged me to come EVERY DAY for 3 weeks. That was it, I was hooked!! Only experience typical muscle soreness that goes along with WOD's, no more back pain. Exercise is the best medicine! I feel so very lucky to train with some of the BEST here at CrossFit Santa Cruz. All the coaches have contributed to my progress and while I still feel like a beginner at times I have come a long way.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day
