In dramatic fashion, Dave Castro told athletes they'd be completing a combination of thrusters and rope climbs ... legless rope climbs.
After a day of running with Worms and logs, and flipping Pigs at the StubHub Center, teams and individual athletes gathered in the Tennis Stadium wondering what was in store for them for the Friday evening event.
In the stadium, huge, tall rigs had been set up with ropes hanging from the structures. In dramatic fashion, Dave Castro told athletes they'd be completing a combination of thrusters and rope climbs. But, of course, there was a twist—the rope climbs had to be legless.
With that announcement, Pat Barber demonstrated with 27 thrusters, then completed one legless rope climb on four different ropes. The rope was revealed to be short. In fact, they were hanging 5-feet off the ground.
