Bio

Hi! My name is Kate Foster and I am 13 years old. I started CrossFit kids when I was 8 years old. In May of 2011, I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. I got a gangrene infection in my leg which eventually led to an above-knee amputation on the same day as my first bone marrow transplant in October 2011. I spent 11 great months going back to school and going on vacation and raising money for CrossFit for Hope. Unfortunately, I relapsed in September 2012 and just spent four months at St. Jude receiving a second bone marrow transplant and participating in new drug trials. We just got back home and I'm looking forward to returning the CrossFit Rockford and my gymnastics team. Good Luck Everyone! How I Eat

I eat mostly Paleo/Primal. I should be blocking my paleo better than I do. I cheat big time once a week. I drink a lot of red wine.

I have a coach who determines my programming

I only workout at CrossFit Rockford.

My Athletic Background

I have no athletic background besides CrossFit

My Experience With CrossFit

I started CrossFitting over six years ago with my current workout partner. We walked in off the street with zero gym experience. We have an amazing COACHB who readily admits he didn't think we would last 6 weeks :D. I think it has been a life-changing experience for all of us. My training has been a bit sporadic over the last year-and-a-half due to Kate's disease and lengthy hospital stays, but we do what we can!

My Work/Rest Schedule

In our ideal world, I usually CrossFit 5 days a week M-T-W-F-Sat, but only once a day.
