I grew up in rural SE Idaho with my 7 siblings, farming potatoes and other crops. I received a scholarship to play basketball my senior year, and went on to obtained my nursing degree (RN). I was a critical care nurse for several years, but eventually I landed in clinical research. 25 years later, I’m now working as a global clinical trials Auditor which I consider to be my dream job.
In 2013 I competed in the Crossfit Games placing 4th. It was there that I met Maude Hecht. We have been friends ever since and have participated in various sporting events together. I stopped competing in 2014; however, in December 2015, Maude convinced me to start training again. In June 2016, we set the Concept 2 distance 24 hr world record in the 50-59 female division.
In August 2017, I surprised Maude by showing up to cheer her on in Madison, and once again, she encouraged me to start training for the 2018 Open. I’ve not done Crossfit since 2013, but I’m giving it my best effort despite a very busy work/travel schedule. I would like to thank Aaron O'Neil, owner of Crossfit 405 in Oklahoma City, OK for allowing me to train and compete in his lovely gym and to my coach Joey Borelli for his knowledge and guidance. I would also like to wish all of the Crossfit Master’s athletes, Individuals, and Teams the best of luck in 2018!
