• Age-Group Quarterfinal Workout 4
QUICK START
• Start each set of clean and jerks standing tall with your back to the barbell.
• At “Go,” turn around and complete 10 clean and jerks at the first weight.
• Rest exactly 1 minute from the time the final rep is completed (at lockout with the feet in line).
• Return to a position standing tall with your back to the barbell.
• After no less than 1 minute of rest, turn around and complete 10 clean and jerks at the second weight.
• Continue this sequence until you reach the final weight or time expires.
• At the final weight, complete as many reps as possible in the time remaining.
• Your score will be the total number of reps completed in 10 minutes.
NOTES
• Start the clock at “Go.” The clock DOES NOT STOP during the rest periods.
• Athletes may:
• Change the load on their bar during the rest periods.
• Use multiple bars.
• Have assistance changing the load.
• Collars must be placed outside the plates.
• Record the time after completing the 10th rep at weights 1, 2, and 3.
• In the event of a tie on total reps, the athlete who completed the 10th rep of the previous weight faster will win the tie.
• Score due by 5 p.m. PT, Monday, April 22, 2024.
EQUIPMENT
• Barbell.
• Bumper plates.
• Any additional weights should be kept a safe distance from the working area.
• Collars.

PENALTIES
• You will be penalized if you are not standing tall with your back to the barbell at the start of each set.

1 of 8The clean and jerk: Each rep starts with the bar on the ground.2 of 8The bar must be lifted to the shoulders, then locked out overhead (no snatches). Any style of clean, except a hang clean, is permitted. Full extension of the hips and legs is NOT required after receiving the clean before starting the overhead lift.3 of 8Any style of overhead lift is acceptable (press, push press, or jerk/split jerk).4 of 8The rep is credited when: Hips, knees, and arms are extended. The feet are in line. Bar is over or behind the middle of the body when viewed from the side.5 of 8No reps for the clean and jerk include but are not limited to: Lowering the barbell before fully extending the hips, knees, or arms.6 of 8Lowering the barbell before the feet have returned in line.7 of 8Finishing with the bar in front of the body.8 of 8Bouncing the barbell between consecutive repetitions. NOTE: In the event of a no rep for any reason at any time, the entire clean and jerk MUST be repeated. A missed overhead lift may NOT be reattempted from the front-rack position.
