“That’s one of the coolest things about the Open in the affiliate setting is that so many of them do such a good job of making it this big community event. They have this whole thing going on a Friday, for example, that’s really common. You come in. It’s set up so that you’re either supporting or you’re judging somebody else or you’re doing it and you cycle through and everybody does everything. And it does have this party atmosphere to it a lot of the time and that’s cool. If you’ve never experienced that … it’s really fun.” — Adrian Bozman

Co-owner of Street Parking, former CrossFit Seminar Staff member, and CrossFit Games athlete Miranda Alcaraz sits down with CrossFit Competition Director Adrian Bozman to talk about the CrossFit Games Open. 

In this episode, the long-time friends reminisce about working and traveling together on the Seminar Staff and share their philosophy about fitness and the power of being a part of a community. They also dispel misconceptions surrounding CrossFit and fitness.

Bozman answers common questions about the Open, describing the worldwide event in detail and offering the benefits of joining the fun. The pair discusses Street Parking’s participation in this year’s Open competition.

“Selfishly, I think it would be really cool for us to represent our community and our group with numbers to be like, ‘Hey, we’re a strong community and … this is who we are,’ but also, let’s show people what the Street Parking members in their garages with their kids running around with their dumbbells, most of the time, can do. … We have some really fit people in our community.” — Miranda Alcaraz
