Masters Athletes Lehane and Dieter Make Time for Their Goals

Masters athletes Colleen Lehane and Jennifer Dieter know all about balancing the priorities and demands in their lives to reach their fitness goals.

Lehane, a seven-time Regional athlete, co-owns Crucible CrossFit and prioritizes her affiliate above her fitness.

“At the end of the day, our business and our members are more important than my fitness,” Lehane says, “but if I want to do the fitness, I have to make time to go in.”

She continues, “I’ve learned to get up earlier than I want to (and) work out when it’s supposed to be my time home or off.”

Five-time Games competitor and full-time physical therapist Dieter says, “The constant balance between mom, work, (and) CrossFit” is challenging, but “somehow (she makes) it work.”

Lehane and Dieter competed in the 2021 AGOQ and managed to train for the competition despite being pulled in several directions. While their motivations for reaching the Games are different, one thing remains the same — both Lehane and Dieter find the time to work toward their goals.

“If I can do it, anybody can do it,” Dieter says. “It’s making time … Find something that you’re passionate about, find something that you love, and go for it.”

Lehane and Dieter will compete at the 2021 CrossFit Games in their respective age groups.
