Up against a field of experienced athletes, 17-year-olds Mallory O’Brien and Emma Cary blew their competition away in Event 3 of the Granite Games.

O’Brien shot out of a cannon to start the event and maintained her lead throughout, pushing the pace with every rep. Close behind was Cary, who made up ground on the tank pull, trying to catch her biggest competition.

With unbroken reps and performances mimicking those of seasoned competitors, the two youngest athletes of the competition finished in the top two spots.

O’Brien took her second event win of the weekend, and Cary ran away with a second-place finish.
