For the past 17 years, the CrossFit Games have brought millions of people together to witness who will earn the distinction of Fittest on Earth™. Next year, the event is going big — Texas big.
The 2024 CrossFit Games will be held in the Lone Star State and are scheduled for Aug. 8-11. The competition will take place at the state-of-the-art Dickies Arena in Fort Worth — named by Billboard as the "Top Venue in North America."
A State-of-the-Art Arena in the Lone Star State
The move to Fort Worth will offer the experience of a lifetime for fans, athletes, affiliates, and partners, says CrossFit CEO Don Faul.
“Fort Worth is a proven destination for high-profile events, and we’re excited to add to the growing number of sports and entertainment options at the state-of-the-art Dickies Arena,” Faul said. “Love of sport is in the DNA of most Texans, and we can’t think of a more enthusiastic audience for the Games.”
Dickies Arena will provide CrossFit new opportunities to present the worldwide championship to fans in attendance with three standard levels of seating, including additional hospitality and elevated viewing experiences on the four-year-old building’s suite and loge box level. The nearly 30,000-square-foot event floor, depending on seating configuration, will provide the luxury of up to an estimated 10,000-plus seats once the field of play is completed.
Hosting the Games in a new venue and city will allow the event to continue to grow, said CrossFit General Manager of Sport and Education Dave Castro.
“The move to Fort Worth is the first step for where we want to take the CrossFit Games,” Castro said. “Just as we expect our athletes to adjust during competition, we’ll need to do the same as we rethink our execution so that we can bring the Games to not only more cities in the United States, but also consider expansion overseas.”
CrossFit is extremely excited about the opportunity to bring the magic of the CrossFit community and the CrossFit Games to Texas, and is committed to supporting local affiliates, coaches, and community members leading up to the annual world championship, which is scheduled for Aug. 8-11, 2024.
Details for the entire 2024 CrossFit Games season, including registration information for the CrossFit Open, will be announced at a later date.
