2018 Games Final Confessions

The 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games is just moments away.

THE ROW

“I think that the first day at the CrossFit Games, and especially the row, was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.” —Björgvin Karl Gudmundsson

“Margaux kept rowing with one arm while she was sipping [water] like a baller. I was like, I’m going to set my handle down and grab whatever’s next to me. You know, I really blew it. I should have worn one of those beer hats with my water there. I had a little fanny pack, but I was missing the beer hat.” —Whitney Gelin

CROSSFIT TOTAL

“I put 495 on, and I looked at my judge and I said to him, ‘Nobody wants to see 495 go up. They want to see 500 go up.’ So I slapped two-and-a-halfs on and was able to make the lift.”  —Saxon Panchik

OBSTACLE COURSE

“I should have abandoned the plan, and I should have just straight up jumped off and tried to land like a sugar glider on the other side.”  —Whitney Gelin

“I was stumped at the rope swing, so I’m going to build a rope swing at my apartment. I’m going to make myself rope swing every day to get out of bed, and I think that’ll take care of it if we do it again next year.” —Whitney Gelin

COLISEUM

“I love feeling the electricity, and everyone’s watching you. It makes me want to perform.” —Amanda Barnhart

“It’s kind of a technique dance. It’s a lot of big anger and aggression in lifting, so it’s a nice way to mellow me down and still keep it fun and have a good time.” —Jared Enderton

“I literally didn’t plan anything. It was just emotion, and that place rocked, and it was probably one of the most incredible moments of my athletic career. Ever.” —Nick Urankar
