The 2017 South Regional, presented by Airrosti, brought the heat to the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Defending Regional women's champion Camille Leblanc-Bazinet was prepared to keep her title but 2016 Games athlete Tennil Reed had other plans. With Roy Gamboa out, the men's crown was up for grabs. And the competition sent the first Latin American team to the Games since the inception of the current Regional format.
