Thanks for your interest in covering the 2025 CrossFit Games season. Originally launched in 2007 in Aromas, California, the CrossFit Games have evolved into a multi-stage competition that is the largest, global fitness event of its kind. With hundreds of thousands of competitors and millions of fans, CrossFit is the first fitness program to create a competitive sport that attracts everyone from elite athletes to everyday gym-goers.

About the 2025 CrossFit Games Season

Now in its 19th season, CrossFit has evolved the competition calendar to offer opportunities for everyone across the CrossFit community to get involved. 

Everyone who wants to participate begins at the Open – a global event that tests CrossFit athletes across a range of fitness challenges. 

After the Open, the highest-performing athletes move on to Semifinals, which are offered in affiliates and at in-person events. 

Then, elite and divisional athletes (e.g. age groups, adaptive, and teenagers) compete in the Finals where the winner is crowned the “Fittest on Earth.”

The 2025 CrossFit Games Open

The CrossFit Open is a three-week international competition where anyone — regardless of fitness level or ability — can compete in the biggest fitness competition in history. The 2025 Open took place from Feb. 27-March 17.

The entire adaptive CrossFit Games season will be run by WheelWOD. The adaptive Open took place at the same time as the CrossFit Open.

The 2025 CrossFit Games Semifinals and Qualifying Events

The best-performing individuals, teams, age-group, and adaptive athletes from the Open will advance to the In-Affiliate Semifinals, the final qualifying stage for athletes hoping to compete in the finals. 

For the individual division, CrossFit has also recognized multiple premier events around the world as official CrossFit Games qualifiers, giving our individual athletes more places and more time to qualify for the 2025 CrossFit Games.

The 2025 CrossFit Games

The greatest athletes in the Sport of Fitness will take on incomparable competition in a bid to become the Fittest on Earth at the 2025 CrossFit Games.

Individuals and teams will advance to the 2025 CrossFit Games in Albany, New York, from Aug. 1-3. Filming and streaming of this event will be available for fans on the CrossFit Games website and broad promotion of the Games across mainstream and social media.

WheelWOD Games, Pit Teen Throwdown, and Legends Championship will host the Adaptive and Age-Group championships for the 2025 CrossFit Games season.
