2024 will be my 3rd consecutive trip to the Games. While finishing 4th in 2022 and winning the championship in 2023 I look forward to competing with many of the accomplished athletes I've met over the past few years, as well as meeting new competitors. I was first introduced to CrossFit when my wife and I visited our son and daughter-in-law in Florida. We watched as they took a class at a local gym. Being an active and competitive person, I was fascinated by the workout and told myself 'I can do that!'. When my son and his wife moved back to Massachusetts they started their own fitness program. I began my CrossFit workouts in 2015 in the basement of their home and did my first Open event in the driveway, in 40-degree weather. I've been hooked ever since. My wife of 36+ years, Donna, has been very supportive and also worked out as well on many occasions. With five grandchildren, ages 16 to 7, we want to be able to keep up with them in our retirement years and enjoy all the activities that they continue to pursue. Basketball had always been my sport and I was competing in leagues up through my 40's. CrossFit provided another level of fitness and competitiveness that I wasn't aware of. A new challenge that I approached with excitement and determination, to improve my health and well-being, as well as enjoying the community surrounding the sport.
