I am a retired High School Wellness teacher of 35 years. I have taught Nutrition and Fitness along with many other curriculums. This passion lead to establishing a public school CrossFit Affiliate in 2010 at Holliston High school (Mudville CrossFit). This lead to opening a CrossFit box in the private sector as well. I've had 10 shoulder surgeries rt and left with 6 anchors and a titanium right joint. I was told by doctors in 2007 that I would never play baseball, catch with my son or rock climb, squat, press or be active the rest of my life. I was introduced to kettlebells and then introduced to CrossFit by an old high school friend, John. He invited me to wod and I was hooked. I play baseball, rock climb, play catch with my son and perform almost most CF movements despite my shoulder mobility challenges. Cliche, but CrossFit gave me my functional life back. These setbacks have taught me the ability to scale and persevere which transfers to my students and fellow athletes. I now coach at Firewall Fitness CrossFit in Holliston MA, working for an ex student of my HS CrossFit class who is now an owner.
