My goal is to readily test both my mental and physical abilities to see just how much better I can be each day. This is the aspect of functional fitness that inspires me and I am confident that I can deliver this same sense of purpose to the athletes that I coach. I started CrossFit since February 2013 and was instantly hooked by both the challenge and sense of triumph that came from every workout. After just a few months, it was clear that this new training regimen made me stronger and fitter than I have been ever in life. The variety of gymnastics movements and the complexity of Olympic lifts were daunting at times, but the strength increase, and measurable progress encouraged me to keep at it. Like many CrossFit athletes, I was captivated after accomplishing a goal that seemed impossible when first starting. For me, it was hitting a pull-up in a workout when I used to struggle to just hang on to the bar. In addition to the physical adaptations, I was healthier, happier, and more energized and confident than ever before. These positive physical and mental results are elements that I think everyone can experience in the right community and with the right coach. I also regularly participates in local fitness competitions, and enthusiastically anticipates the CrossFit Open season each year.
