My crossfit journey began 12 years ago, & has taken many turns along my path. From 2 masters games appearances, & now qualified for another this year, to having 2 separate heart events & 4 stents in my heart … the last one just 1 day after I placed 10th in 2018 at the games. After that I gained 50+ pounds & felt old for the first time in my life. I began the journey back to fitness at crossfit Reveille in Memphis Tn. I had no idea where that would take me? & honestly there I was a “games competitor” doing banded pull ups & knee push ups … but I left my ego at the door, & was indeed celebrated where I was. That path allowed me to lose 50+ pounds & now imagine my surprise when my efforts in the open left me in 1st place… I was both excited & well, was wondering if I could maintain this level of fitness??? Going back to “old man” was & is not an option… so, I’m going to enjoy this ride as long as possible, & hope to inspire other men who thought they were old & just waiting to die, with out being able to live well!!! I’m not going to sugar coat any of this, it is tough! Very tough, but with this awesome crossfit community, it is possible!!! Now, 3,2,1 Go!
