Married to an awesome and supportive and active wife who owns a yoga studio and is an active practitioner and does Crossfit as well. She is a retired PICU trauma nurse. She is the one who got me involved in Crossfit initially, so for that and so much more I owe her my thanks! We have 6 children, all grown up and out of the house.
I am involved in agriculture, specifically overseas fresh fruit production (focus on Latin America, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia) and imports/sales into the US, and peripherally with exports to other global markets. While my background is more in international finance, I have gravitated toward the grower/production element of the business and enjoy the ebb and flow of the seasons. Prior to getting into the fruit business I was a Professor of Finance and Marketing at two universities in Chile (lived there for one year) and then worked for a consulting company in Washington DC which focused on the grain industry, mostly strategic and M&A work.
We moved to Denver in September of 2015 and making a new life here, awesome.
Getting to the Games in the 60+ Masters division was the experience of a lifetime. Unfortunately I tore my right hip labrum just one month prior to the Games and while I powered through the Games (due to great coaching, positive energy, proper stretching and warm up, incredible taping and massage support staff, and a wonderfully supportive fellow group of competitors), the hip is weak which preventing some heavy movements. BUT, I will do the Open as much as is safely possible and enjoy once again the energy and excitement of this awesome sport.
