It seems like I have always been involved in sports in one way or another. Last year I retired from teaching high school and had 32 years of coaching various sport including volleyball, cross country, basketball, golf, and track. I played basketball and ran cross country and track in college. I have ran in 8 marathons including the 100th Boston and my best time is 3:10.45. When my daughter introduced me to CrossFit about 5 years ago I fell in love with it. I do not run distance anymore but I feel more fit than I did 20 years ago. When I first started CrossFit I could not do an overhead squat with the bar. Whenever I feel I am not improving I look back in my journal from my first year and remind myself how far I have come in just a few years. It helps that my husband also enjoys CrossFit and that my daughter and son-in-law own a CrossFit box. I love the social interaction and friendships that have developed through CrossFit!
