I have been a passionate advocate for health and fitness all my life. After adding CrossFit to my fitness regimen in 2009, I soon began competing, qualifying for Crossfit Regionals multiple years, placing as high as 14th among women half my age. Despite two major spinal surgeries in the past 4 years, each year I become faster and stronger and continue to compete with a team or as an individual in both local and regional CrossFit events.
Prior to Crossfit, I swam competitively in high school, and as an adult ran several half-marathons, one marathon, and four long-distance team relay races. I have been a competitive triathlete for both Sprint and Olympic distances. I fell quickly in love with Crossfit, earning my Level 1 Certification in January 2011 and teaching regularly at Crossfit Castle Rock. I have been actively working out with the competitive group within Backcountry Crossfit for almost three years so that I could be pushed further, ultimately resulting in qualifying for the Crossfit Games in 2016, my first of hopefully many visits!
Growing up in Atlanta, I met my husband of 20 years, Andy, in college. Andy and I enjoy Crossfit together and have two very active children (Garrett – 16 & Sydney – 14). We have lived in Minneapolis and Kansas City and now make our home in Castle Rock, Colorado. I have worked full time with Sprint Corporation since 1998 in various roles in Information Technology and am very fortunate for their support in my training endeavors.
