The Mid Atlantic Region continues to see the top athletes from 2011 leading in 2012.

In the women’s competition, Cameron Williams followed up her 4th place worldwide finish in 12.2 with a strong 12.3 and leads the region. Michelle Crawford is right behind, having scored 22nd worldwide. Jenny Butler is sitting comfortably in 3rd place. Butlter tore several ligaments in her thumb right before the Open in the last game of her semi-pro football season and was doubtful she’d compete in the Open. Games competitors Gretchen Kittelberger and Christy Phillips are tired for 4th after Week 3.

On the men’s side, Sean Thomson continues to dazzle the region. Thomson earned a 2nd place ranking in the Region on 12.3 with 480 reps. You can check out a video interview from the CrossFit Games site here.

Thomas “Hootie” Hooton, has fulfilled a lot of the expectations he’s had for himself with his strong performance in the first three workouts of the CrossFit Games Open. Many coaches saw his impressive numbers in 2011 and predicted he’d be much more competitive than his 10th place finish last year. It look’s like Hootie has put it together and come out of the gate strong.

Third place John Dahlinger (R.A.W. Training) was 14th in the 2011 Mid Atlantic Open and elected to compete on the R.A.W. Training Team.

Two Mid Atlantic women are at 32nd and 33rd, respectively in the Masters 45-49 division. Andrea Logan of CrossFit APX, Cary, N.C., is three points ahead of Lisa Quinn. Quinn owns and operates CrossFit Spotsy in Fredericksburg, Va., and was a Semper Fit instructor for years in Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Jerry Hill continues to dominate the Masters Men 45-49. He currently leads the field by 43 points.
