Registration for the 2021 CrossFit Open is live! Keep reading to learn all you need to know about the world’s largest participatory sporting event.
The CrossFit Open is for anyone: the newcomer who just started their CrossFit journey, the seasoned competitor who has their sights on the CrossFit Games, and everyone in between.
In 2018, CrossFit set a record with 415,000 Open participants across 172 countries. Among them were mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandparents, firefighters, nurses, military personnel, teachers, and more.
Each year, athletes of all ages, from a range of backgrounds and with varying ability levels, unite to complete the worldwide Open. Among them are the Fittest on Earth as well as the average Joes and Josephines, and by the end, all have new accomplishments to celebrate.
The CrossFit Open is the largest participatory sporting event in the world.
The three-week event is held online and unites CrossFit athletes all over the globe in the first stage of the CrossFit Games season. With scaled, masters, and — for the first time — adaptive divisions, participants have a lot of options when choosing the best workout for them.
This year’s Open will be the most accessible in CrossFit history, with flexible options for participants to compete either at their local gym or at home, with or without equipment, should they face local closures or have health concerns.
Gift codes to pay for a friend or family member’s registration fee are now available for advance purchase at games.crossfit.com.
The Open starts March 11. Details for the first workout will be released at 5 p.m. Pacific Time right here on games.crossfit.com. A new Open workout will be announced each Thursday (March 11, 18, and 25). Participants will have until the following Monday at 5 p.m. PT each week (March 15, 22, and 29) to submit their scores on games.crossfit.com.
The 2021 Open provides several options for completing the week’s workout. Depending on your local regulations and health concerns, you may be able to compete at a nearby CrossFit affiliate. This year, CrossFit is offering versions of each workout that can be done at home with either basic equipment or no equipment. So really, you can compete anywhere!
Do it for fun, for a challenge, for your affiliate family, for fitness, or to reach the CrossFit Games Quarterfinals and Semifinals, and fight for a chance to make it to the 2021 CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin. Whether you are the Fittest on Earth or it's your first time competing in CrossFit, the 2021 Open has something for everyone.
It's on! Get registered and ramp up the training. Nine weeks remain until we announce the first workout.
