Get the in-depth analysis of Open Workout 26.2 from Jonathan Kinnick of Beyond the Whiteboard.

The second workout of the 2026 CrossFit Open, presented by Air National Guard, featured alternating dumbbell snatches, dumbbell overhead walking lunges, pull-ups, chest-to-bar pull-ups, and muscle-ups. The muscle-ups were on the rings, which is a change compared to the bar muscle-ups we saw during the past two Opens. The workout had a stiff 15-minute time cap, and athletes who did not finish posted scores of how many reps they completed along with tiebreak times.

There were some obvious similarities between this workout and Open Workout 25.2, which also included these pulling movements with increasing difficulty, but paired with a different set of supporting movements.

By far, the biggest challenge of this workout was the muscle-ups. An impressive 9,918 women and 41,773 men were able to perform at least 1 ring muscle-up.

The chest-to-bar pull-ups did not cause too much difficulty for athletes this year with over 58,000 women and 100,000 men able to perform at least 1 rep. This was across all divisions.

Performance by Country

Similar to Week 1, there were significant differences in workout version participation across top countries. The top three countries by Rx’d participation rate were South Korea with 88%, Australia with 84%, and the United States with 78%.

This was a challenging workout to finish within the time cap, so we’ll take a look at what percentage of athletes were able to finish the Rx’d version. The top countries to finish 26.2 Rx’d were Spain with 10.1%, followed by Australia and Italy, both with 8.4%.

The muscle-ups were a big roadblock on this workout, so we can also look at the percentage of athletes who got at least 1 muscle-up. Based on this metric, the top countries were Australia with 29.5%, Spain with 28.8%, and France with 28.2%.

Workout Analysis by Division

The advanced pulling movements in this workout led to fewer athletes choosing the Rx’d version compared to 26.1. For women aged 18-34, 70% performed 25.2 as Rx’d compared to 78% on 26.1. For men aged 18-34, 88% performed 26.2 as Rx’d compared to 92% on 26.1.

Given the difficulty of the muscle-up, we saw a huge pile-up at the 112th rep. The majority of athletes who were able to get past this point got time-capped during the first 10 muscle-ups.

Finishing the Rx’d version of this workout was very challenging, with only 4% of women and 13% of men completing all the reps within the time cap.

Community Cup Tiers

For the 2026 CrossFit Games season, the Community Cup is the next step after the Open. The tier you compete against in the Community Cup is based on the level you receive after completing and submitting scores for all three workouts in the Open.

The table below gives you an idea where your score on 26.2 would put you in terms of tiers. For example, Women aged 55+ need a score of at least 117 reps to make it into the Advanced tier on 26.2.

Percentiles by Division and Version

Below are percentile tables for Individuals, Masters, and Teenagers, with details for each version of the workout. You can see the breakdown of how many reps it took to achieve a particular percentile. For example, for Rx’d Men aged 18-34, a score of 127 reps got you into the 75th percentile.

These percentiles are comparing you against your division and workout version, which is different from your overall division percentile (compared against all versions combined).
