General Competition Questions:
Question: Do I have to do the workouts at an affiliate in good standing?
Answer: Yes.
Question: Are videos required to submit my workouts?
Answer: No, you are not required to submit videos of your workouts for Quarterfinals. If you place in the top five male or female individuals, you will be asked for a video for prize money validation purposes.
Question: Do the Quarterfinals have to be done in the same affiliate where I did the Open?
Answer: No, you can do the Quarterfinals at any affiliate in good standing.
Question: Can I submit a score from a workout that I completed before Thursday, March 26 at 12 p.m. PT?
Answer: Only workouts performed during the competition window may be submitted as official scores. Anything done before Thursday, March 26, at 12 p.m. PT cannot be submitted.
Question: Are there different weights for different age groups?
Answer: Yes, you must go to the official scorecard to find the specific requirements for each age division.
Question: Are there prizes for age group divisions?
Answer: Only the individual division is eligible for prizes in the 2026 Quarterfinals.
Question: If I qualify for both Individual Quarterfinals and Age-Group Quarterfinals, do I need to register for both?
Answer: Yes, you need to register separately for both divisions, but you will only be charged once.
Question: If I live in a different time zone, can I start the workouts on Thursday, March 26, at 12 p.m. in my time zone.
Answer: No, you must use Pacific Time for the competition window.
Question: Are there floor plans?
Answer: There are not specific floor plans but there are minimum distance requirements for equipment on some workouts for safety reasons.
Judging Questions:
Question: If I don’t want to go to an affiliate, can I just use a registered judge and video my workouts?
Answer: No
Question: How can an athlete confirm their judge is a registered judge?
Answer: Ask your judge to see their credential before you complete the workout. When you are submitting your score, registered judges will populate on the dropdown selection. If you cannot find your judge’s name on the dropdown menu, they are not a registered judge.
Question: If my judge has completed the Advanced Judges Course from last year (2025), do they still need to take the 2026 Judges Course?
Answer: No. The Advanced Judges Course is valid for 3 years.
Workout 1
For time:
10 50-foot shuttle runs
20 overhead squats
30 lateral burpees over the bar
Rest 1 minute
30 lateral burpees over the bar
20 overhead squats

Question: Can athletes clean the bar and transfer it behind the neck, then press it up into an overhead squat position?
Answer: Yes. You may get it to the overhead position however you’d like as long as the bar starts on the ground.
Question: Is it allowed to use risers under the heels for the overhead squats?
Answer: No
Workout 2
For time, completed anyhow:
80 dumbbell hang squat cleans
40 bar muscle-ups
Time cap: 15 minutes
Question: Can the dumbbell hang position be between the legs?
Answer: Yes, the cleans can be performed with the dumbbells between the legs or outside the legs.
Question: Can I push/launch the dumbbells off of the legs similar to a barbell hang clean?
Answer: No. The dumbbells cannot be pushed off of the thighs.
Question: Can I use boxes, risers or other implements to reach the pull-up bar?
Answer: Yes, as long as all movement standards are met.
Workout 3
For time:
3 rounds of:
50 double-unders
10 deadlifts, weight 1
2 rounds of:
50 double-unders
10 deadlifts, weight 2
1 round of:
50 double-unders
10 deadlifts, weight 3
Time cap: 12 minutes
Workout 4
For time:
1,000-meter row
30 clean and jerks
1,000-meter row
30 strict handstand push-ups
Time cap: 20 minutes
Question: If our feet go wider than shoulders on the strict HSPU, but we bring them back in at lockout, does that count?
Answer: Yes. However if it is a deliberate technique to gain momentum from the legs that is not allowed.
Question: Can you put anything under your head to perform HSPU?
Answer: Yes. You may put a pad under the head but the hands must also be the same level as the head (or for Masters 55+, a maximum of 2 inches above the head). This may require using bumper plates under your hands to make them level with the pad.
Question: Do you have to stand up your clean before you jerk?
Answer: No, full extension of the hips and legs is NOT required after receiving the clean before starting the overhead lift.
