What are the CrossFit Semifinals?
The CrossFit Semifinals are the second qualifying stage for the 2025 CrossFit Games. The top-performing athletes from the CrossFit Open will advance to this stage of competition, where they will complete a series of workouts throughout one weekend. From there, top athletes in each division will qualify for the division finals to crown the Fittest on Earth.
The number of athletes who qualify for Semifinals and the format of competition differ by division.
Age-Group Division
Important Dates
- Invitations Sent to Athletes: March 31
- Age-Group In-Affiliate Semifinals: April 3-6
Age-Group Semifinals Cutlines
The top 2% of Open finishers (or a minimum of 200 athletes) from each age-group division will be invited to compete in the in-affiliate Semifinals.
Age-group athletes must rank at or higher than the cutlines below to qualify.

How it Works: The Age-Group In-Affiliate Semifinals
Age-group athletes can earn their ticket to the 2025 Teenage CrossFit Games by Pit Teen Throwdown or the 2025 Masters CrossFit Games by Legends through the Age-Group In-Affiliate Semifinals.
All age-group divisions will have from Thursday, April 3, at 12 p.m. PT until Sunday, April 6, at 5 p.m. PT to complete a series of workouts and submit their scores. The exact number of workouts to be completed will be released prior to the competition.

Team Division
Important Dates
- Team In-Affiliate Semifinals: April 24-27
Team Semifinals Cutlines
There are no cutlines for the team division. Any licensed CrossFit affiliate gym in good standing who registered a team during the CrossFit Open will be eligible to compete in Semifinals.
How It Works: The Team In-Affiliate Semifinals
The team event format will be programmed for two men and two women. Once competition begins, the team must select only two men and two women from the Competition Team roster to compete for the duration of the Semifinals.
Teams will have from Thursday, April 24, at 12 p.m. PT until Sunday, April 27, at 5 p.m. PT to complete a series of workouts at their affiliate and submit their scores. The exact number of workouts to be completed will be released prior to the competition.
How Many Teams Qualify for the 2025 CrossFit Games?
The top 20 teams from Semifinals will advance to the 2025 CrossFit Games.
Note: Only one team per affiliate will advance to represent that affiliate at the finals. If an affiliate has multiple teams compete in the Semifinals and more than one team finishes in a qualifying position, CrossFit will elect to invite the next eligible team on the leaderboard as long as the team is from a different affiliate.
Individual Division

Individual Semifinals Cutlines
The top 1% of individual athletes from the Open will advance to Semifinals. Athletes must rank at or higher than the cutline below to qualify.

How It Works: The Individual In-Affiliate Semifinals
Athletes can earn their ticket to the 2025 CrossFit Games through the Individual In-Affiliate Semifinals. Individuals will have from Thursday, May 1, at 12 p.m. PT until Sunday, May 4, at 5 p.m. PT to complete a series of workouts and submit their scores. The exact number of workouts to be completed will be released prior to the competition.

The Hustle-Up Last-Chance Qualifier
Athletes still looking to punch their ticket to the Games will have one more chance to make it. The Hustle Up Last-Chance Qualifier will take place from June 13-16 and qualify one man and one woman to the CrossFit Games in Albany, New York. More information coming soon.
How It Works: The Individual In-Person Qualifying Events
CrossFit has recognized ten premier events around the world as official CrossFit Games qualifiers, giving our individual athletes more opportunities and more time to qualify!
Individual athletes who qualify within the top 1% from the CrossFit Open and place within a Games-qualifying spot at one of the events below will receive a ticket to the 2025 CrossFit Games.

The top 20 adaptive athletes in each division from the Adaptive Open will be invited to compete at the Semifinals stage.
How It Works: The Adaptive Semifinals by WheelWOD
WheelWOD will be hosting the online Adaptive Semifinals, where athletes will complete a series of workouts from May 8-11. Registration, score submission, and workout info will be available through WheelWOD.
How Many Athletes Qualify for the 2025 Adaptive CrossFit Games?
The top 10 athletes from each division after the Semifinals will move on to the Adaptive CrossFit Games by WheelWOD.

There have been changes to the 2025 season, and with the new structure of Semifinals comes new requirements for athletes. To prepare you for the start of competition, we’ve put together the most important information you will need to know when competing at Semifinals from important dates, how to complete the workouts, score submission requirements, and more.

You Be the Judge! How to Review the Semifinals Video Submissions
As part of the online Semifinal review process for the Individual and Age-Group divisions, videos of all workout performances will be made public on the leaderboard. Anyone who has completed the 2025 Judges Course will be able to view the videos and cast a vote on the athlete’s performance. At the end of the review period, any videos that have received a significant number of “needs review” votes may be reviewed by CrossFit’s internal review team to give a final ruling on the performance. This may result in a penalty assessed to the athlete.
