Highlights From Day 3
Austin Hatfield Wins Back-to-Back Events

“You paid for the whole seat, but you’re only going to need the edge!” — Chase Ighram
When Austin Hatfield started Day 3, he was sitting in eighth place on the leaderboard. But only 57 points separated him from Jayson Hopper, sitting in first. It might be the last day, but podium wasn’t out of the question yet.
Confident the deficit handstand push-ups in Event 9 were in his wheelhouse, Hatfield secured his first event win of the weekend, bumping himself into sixth place.
That wasn’t a podium, though, and Hatfield wasn’t finished climbing.
Stepping on the accelerator and setting cruise control to max speed, Hatfield completed his 5 rounds in just 2:35, snatching up yet another 100 points.
“Where does that confidence come from?” Arsenault asked him in the post-event interview.
“The confidence comes in the gym, the hours of work you put in the gym. Just the consistency,” he said.
With just one event remaining, Hatfield sat in the third spot on the podium, a mere 13 points away from the title of Fittest Man on Earth.
Could he make it three for three?
“Yeah. It’s championship Sunday,” Hatfield responded.
A Tie for First

Team Event 7 featured a down-and-back chipper that included handstand walks, team deadlifts with a long, fat bar, strict wall-facing handstand push-ups, and Echo bike calories.
The top three teams entered Day 3 with a mere 15-point spread: CrossFit Oslo Kriger with 480 points, CrossFit Mayhem with 475, and CrossFit Butcher’s Lab Vanløse with 465. The real story, however, was the battle between Oslo and Mayhem for the top spot on the leaderboard.
Athletes sped through the handstand walk, with Oslo taking a lead on the first set of deadlifts. Eyes remained on Oslo and Camel City CrossFit, which wasn't far behind the team from Norway. Oslo maintained a comfortable lead until the second set of deadlifts, when they received a no rep.
Out of what seemed like nowhere, Mayhem pulled ahead on the handstand walk to win the event by just 3 seconds.
With the points recalculated, CrossFit Mayhem and CrossFit Oslo Kriger entered Event 8 tied with 575 points each. If Mayhem secures the win, it would be their first time without Rich Froning Jr. on the team. And with former teenage champion Angelo DiCicco competing, it would mark the first time a team with a former teen champ stands atop the podium.
Arielle Loewen: ‘I Haven’t Looked at the Leaderboard All Weekend’

Individual Event 9 felt as though it was made for a photo finish. With a 5-minute countdown, athletes had to complete five rounds of a 200-meter run and 6 105-lb snatches.
But that was more than enough time for these women, and every second counted. Just one misstep could cost you crucial points.
Heading into the second event of Day 3, Arielle Loewen had just been knocked out of her third-place podium, because of her 12th-place finish in Event 8.
Focusing just on her lane, Loewen sprinted through the 5 rounds, running into the end zone fourth in her heat. This would be good for sixth place overall, awarding Loewen her podium spot back.
Her fans let out a sigh of relief.
But Loewen admitted in her post-event interview that she didn’t even know where she stood on the leaderboard until sideline reporter Mike Arsenault told her.
“I’ll be honest, I haven’t looked at the leaderboard all weekend, so thank you,” she told Arsenault. “These girls are all so amazing. The fact that I can hang with them and fight with them for a podium spot is pretty cool.”
Making History — A European Team Wins the Affiliate Cup for the First Time Ever

It all came down to one final challenge.
Heading into Event 8 — It All Adds Up — CrossFit Oslo Kriger and CrossFit Mayhem were tied for points atop the leaderboard. One workout. One winner. The 2025 Affiliate Cup championship was on the line.
The event featured a brutal mix of Worm thrusters, Worm lunges, rope climbs, and synchronized burpees — with the infamous Worm making its second appearance of the weekend. A dramatic lunge to the finish would close out the event.
In Heat 1, 8th Day CrossFit laid down a blazing benchmark of 9:15 — the 11-minute time cap nowhere in sight. But the real drama unfolded in Heat 2, with the entire MVP arena locked in on the two titans: Oslo and Mayhem.
Mayhem, known for dominating rope-climb events, entered as the favorite. But Oslo came out swinging, finishing their first round of Worm thrusters first and charging into the rope climbs. With precision and urgency, they began to pull away and never looked back.
Mayhem fought to close the gap, but Oslo turned up the heat, refusing to give an inch. By the time they reached the lunges, the lead was theirs, and the title was within reach. With the crowd on the edge of their seats, Oslo surged across the finish in 8:07, making history as the first European team to ever win the CrossFit Games Affiliate Cup.
CrossFit Oslo Kriger is the Fittest Team on Earth.
Olivia Kerstetter Slides into Podium Position

When Olivia Kerstetter turned 18 years old at the start of the 2023 CrossFit Games season, she tucked away her two gold medals from the Teenage Division and entered a new, extremely competitive division.
Despite the challenge, Kerstetter qualified for her first CrossFit Games as an individual that same year. She earned her first career event win during the finale and finished the 2023 Games in 16th place overall.
Missing out on the Games last year, Kerstetter earned her second ticket to the 2025 CrossFit Games out of the Fittest Experience In-Person Qualifier.
All weekend, she climbed the leaderboard steadily, and by the final event, Kerstetter set herself just 14 points out of third place. Channeling her 2023 Games self, she was the first to lunge her 95-lb barbell to the end zone and collected 100 points and her second career event win as an individual.
This win moved Kerstetter onto the podium.
“I’ve grown up doing this sport forever, and this is one step closer to the ultimate goal,” she told Arsenault.
