WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY CUP?

 

Workout 1 

As many rounds and reps as possible in 20 minutes of: 

12 box step-overs 

9 dumbbell snatches 

3 hand-release push-ups 

♀ 20-lb (10-kg) dumbbell, 20-inch box 

♂ 35-lb (15-kg) dumbbell, 20-inch box 

 

Question: Is the dumbbell used on the box jump-overs?

Answer: NO.



Question: Can I jump down from the box, or is a step down required?

Answer: A step down is required.

 

Workout 2 

Complete as many reps as possible following the interval of: 

2 minutes of work, 

1-minute rest 

2 minutes of work, 

1-minute rest 

2 minutes of work, 

1-minute rest 

3 minutes of work

Rounds 1 and 2

10 sit-ups 

10 overhead squats 

Max-calorie row 

Rounds 3 and 4 

10-calorie row 

10 overhead squats 

Max ring rows 

♀ 35 lb (15 kg) 

♂ 45 lb (20 kg) 

 

Question: What kind of pull-ups are required?

Answer: Novice and Intermediate tiers will perform regular pull-ups. The Advanced tier will perform chest-to-bar pull-ups. Pull-ups can be any style as long as the requirements of the pull-up from the scorecard are met, as listed below:

  • Start each rep with arms fully extended and feet off the ground.
  • The rep is credited when the chin clearly breaks the horizontal plane of the bar. (for regular pull-ups) or:
  • The rep is credited when the chest clearly contacts the bar at or below the collarbone. (for chest to bar pull-ups).

 

Workout 3 

In 20 minutes, establish: 

1-rep-max front squat 

1-rep-max hang power clean 

 

Question: Can an athlete switch back and forth between the front squat and the hang power clean?

Answer: YES.

 

Question: Can athletes use two separate bars?

Answer: YES.

 

General Competition Questions

Question: What are the judging requirements?

Answer: It is recommended but not required that athletes use a judge who has completed the 2025 Judges Course

 

Question: Is a video submission required for any of the workouts?

Answer: NO.

 

Question: Must workouts be completed at an affiliate?

Answer: YES, workouts must be performed at an affiliate in good standing.

 

Question: Does the Affiliate Manager need to validate scores?

Answer: NO, there will be automatic validation of scores. The Affiliate Manager may reject score(s) if submitted incorrectly. Affiliate Managers will only have the ability to reject scores until Wednesday, June 18, at 5 p.m. PT.

 

Question: Are athletes required to complete the Community Cup workouts at the affiliate where they are a member?

Answer: NO, athletes can complete the workouts at any affiliate in good standing.

 

Question: Can I switch to a different level to compete?

Answer: NO, levels were assigned based on the athlete’s performance during the 2025 CrossFit Open. Levels will be reassigned each year based on Open performance.

 

Question: If I cannot perform all the movements in a specific workout at my level, can I scale down to a different level to submit a score?

Answer: NO, athletes can only compete in their assigned tier.
