The Masters Division is Expanding in 2024!

More athletes 35-65+ will compete at the CrossFit Games than ever before.
The Masters CrossFit Games by Legends will take place from Aug. 29-Sep. 1, 2024, at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
New this year, the Legends is trialing a division for 70+ athletes, exclusively at the Masters CrossFit Games. Since 70+ is not currently an official division in the CrossFit Open, invitations will be sent to the top 10 men and women in the 65+ division aged 70+ based on Quarterfinals performances, provided they did not advance to the Games in the 65+ division by the cut-off dates.
Just like the Teenage Division, there will be new ways to compete in events hosted by Legends if you don’t qualify for the Games.
New! Masters Team Competition
At the same time as the Masters CrossFit Games, Legends will run a community Masters Team Competition in Birmingham.
Teams will consist of two men and two women. To qualify for this competition, all athletes will need to have advanced past the 2024 CrossFit Open and have registered for the Quarterfinals.
The number of qualifying teams will include:
- 40 teams ages 35-44
- 40 teams ages 45-54
- 20 teams ages 55+
Legends Championship
The Legends Championship will take place from December 12-15, 2024, in Tempe, Arizona.
For athletes who do not qualify for the Masters CrossFit Games, the Legends Championship provides another opportunity for masters athletes to compete at a high level. This competition is also open to the 2024 CrossFit Games masters athletes.
Athletes can qualify for the Legends Championship first through the 2024 CrossFit Open then through an online qualifier. Additionally, the top athletes from the Masters CrossFit Games will receive an invitation to compete at this competition.
How to Qualify For All Competitions
All masters athletes will begin their season with the three-week worldwide CrossFit Open alongside individuals, adaptive, and teams. The age groups include:
- Men and Women 35-39
- Men and Women 40-44
- Men and Women 45-49
- Men and Women 50-54
- Men and Women 55-59
- Men and Women 60-64
- Men and Women 65+
Important Note: The 70+ trial division will be hosted at the Masters CrossFit Games and currently is not an official division for the Open. But you can still compete against your peers!
