Games Athletes Across the Globe Cleared for Travel

July 3, 2021

The United States Department of Homeland Security Grants Exemptions to International CrossFit Games athletes.

First reported by the Morning Chalk Up: “After weeks of lobbying by @crossfitgames staff, the Department of Homeland Security has granted National Interest Exception (NIE) travel waivers to athletes living in restricted countries to travel to the U.S. to compete at the CrossFit Games.

“The travel ban would have affected 1 in 4 individual Games athletes and 1 in 3 teams, who will now be able to compete later this month.

“One very big thing: The travel waiver also includes one additional support member to travel with the athlete (coach, spouse, etc.).”
