After competing at the Games for two years as an Individual, Angie Hay decided to compete with the CrossFit Taranis team this year.
"I've had a back injury since Regionals last year and it's just prevented heavy lifting, which I think is definitely required to compete as an individual. So, physically just wasn't able to do the workload," Hay said prior to the 2013 Canada West Regional. "And, personally, I've gone through a really big transition with my family and that was taking up most of my energy. So, just not being in the same mindset to go individual."
Hay even considered taking the whole year off, but couldn't resist competing with Team Taranis.
"It's been the best thing. I'm really glad I decided to go team instead," she says.
After finishing second at the Regional, she's and the Taranis team are going back to the Games.
