Athlete: Chris Arsenault
How I Eat
I eat strict Paleo
I take pride in cooking large quantities of meat and vegetables 2-3 times a week to cover all my meals and snacks. I eat 6-8 times a day and tend to consume a higher amount of calories after a heavy lift day. Some of my favorites including cooking 20-30 Turkey Burgers with shredded zucchini mixed in, bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed w/ grilled chicken, grilled chicken breast marinated in puree habanero w/ black pepper and grilled mixed vegetable skewers.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I record my workouts
I workout up to six days a week with the majority of my time spent at CrossFit OverTake in the Woodlands, Texas. There is nothing that can compare to the satisfaction and reward gained on every visit to CrossFit OverTake. It's all about getting better and the positive experience at CFOT extends into every part of my life inside and outside of the box.
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
Football (Linebacker, Defensive End & Guard), Wresting & Power Lifting
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
I started at CrossFit OverTake working with head coach/owner Marco Coppola and coaches Erin Coppola and Alex B in May 2012. CFOT offers an extreme limitless strength and conditioning experience. The CrossFitters and Coaches at CFOT are all out for the same goal, chasing excellence in everything we do. Every time I walk into the box, there is an excitement and energy that cannot be matched elsewhere and every time I leave, I walk out feeling success, reward, accomplishment and improvement. This constant positive energy is truly life changing and keeps me walking high in everything else I do. To add on to the life changing experiences, I have also been off Cholesterol medication for a full year and have dropped my hereditary cholesterol issues down to normal by eating a quality diet, taking Pure Pharma Fish Oil and going strong at CrossFit OverTake.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I do multiple workouts in a day 3+ times a week
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
I work out at CrossFit OverTake 3-4 days a week and also perform other related training with close friends and family at other facilities. Mainly HIIT, sprints, running and additional lifting as needed on lunch breaks and weekends. I typically rest of Sundays.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I've been at CrossFit OverTake since May of 2012 and wish I found CrossFit 10 years ago. It is a significant source of personal satisfaction and reward. Yesterday's max is today's warm up!
