Bio

I live in Alberta, Canada with my Wife and two daughters. This will be the fourth open i've competed in, in 2010 I was part of an affiliate team that competed in the western Canada regional. I've been crossfitting for about four years and I am 100% addicted!

ATHLETE INFORMATION

How I Eat

I eat whatever is convenient

I eat 1-3 full cheat meals per week

My diet is always a work in progress. As of this moment i'm eating Zone with no grains, dairy, or sugars (other than cheats, which happen a couple times through out the week). I love food so MUCH!

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I have a coach who determines my programming

I record my workouts

I workout the majority of the time at Crossfit Lloydminster where my workouts are programmed. When i'm not working out at the box, I do so at home. I have a good supply of equipment and can program almost any WOD or do main site.

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I regularly play recreational sports

In high school I played lots of sports including Rugby, Hockey, Volleyball, and Golf. Since graduation I continued to play mens 1st and 2nd div rugby in the Saskatchewan Rugby Union.

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course

I have attended one or more specialty courses

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit

I train other people

Crossfit has totally changed my life, it has changed how I view myself as well as how I view tasks that need to be completed. I often tell people that is took me 23 years to find my passion, and I plan on spend the rest of my life practicing it. I have attended the crossfit level 1 course in Jan of this year and eagerly await my test results.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day

I typically rest 4 or more days per month

I typically only do one workout a day, but I usually also work a strength or skill post or prior to the WOD. Some Tuesdays and Thursdays end up being double days depending on what we accomplish at our affiliate team practice. I try to only take one rest day throughout the week but this can be impossible at times due to the strains of work and family.

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

2-4 years

A friend who I play rubgy with told me about crossfit, we decided that it would be a good strength and condtioning plan for the off season. Little did I know that my new strength and conditioning program would take over my life forever.
