Just glad to be able to do this Crossfit stuff! ...."Hurts so good" and "Pain is weakness leaving the body," I don't know about all that stuff, but I just know somehow I am more healthy and pain free when consistently doing Crossfit. It noticeably helps improve my life and other activities like water-skiing and golf. This is my 3rd Open and I really enjoy the camaraderie that develops every year with all the people in my age group. I hope to meet some of you out in California this summer and share some stories and a few beers!!
How I Eat
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I eat whatever is convenient
I eat 1-3 full cheat meals per week
Still like my Miller Lites on the weekends!
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I incorporate CrossFit.com workouts
I record my workouts
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
I regularly play recreational sports
My comfort zone after years of bodybuilding and powerlifting are Bench, Squat, and Deadlift. I prefer anaerobic training and WOD's. Anything requiring extra oxygen and heavy breathing put's a hurtin' on this ol' girl!!
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course
My Work/Rest Schedule
I usually only do 1 workout a day
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
I try to listen to my body and take time off depending on pain level from old injuries. When in the groove, I'm good for 4-5 days a week, usually take weekends off.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I started in 2008 at Crossfit Brighton (Michigan) with Chris Tamer and co. and moved to Columbus, Ohio joining up with the Rogue team in Gahanna, Ohio. After several months off due to injury in 2012, I joined up and am presently with Crossfit New Albany.
