I've been doing Crossfit for over 5 years. Although there is a huge benefit with the community aspect, my main reason is for the functional fitness it provides in so many parts of my life. Since I am my husband's caregiver, it is important for me to maintain good strength to lift and transfer my husband's 170 pounds several times a day along with doing the occasional heavier weight household maintenance which includes carrying around a 20 ft extension ladder to change light bulbs, clean screens and put up Christmas lights. Where it really comes in handy is when a wind storm falls trees across the driveway and I can just deadlift the trees out of the way!
