How I Eat

I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount

I eat mostly Paleo but I am not strict. Still, much better than tons of bread, cereal and pasta that I used to eat as a competitive distance runner!

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I workout mostly at home, work, or a traditional gym

I incorporate workouts

I have a garage gym and I also work out at Lightning Crossfit on Eglin AFB. I usually follow LCF's programming but occasionally I'll follow the mainsite or make something up.

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I regularly play recreational sports

My background is running: cross country and distance track events. Running PR's are 2:05 800m, 4:41 mile, 10:20 3200m, 16:59 5k, 34:58 10k (road) and 55:55 15K (road). I ran competitively after high school until I discovered Crossfit about 3 years ago and gradually transitioned away from running. Crossfit still keeps me in decent running shape up to about 5k, and I can still run a mile in about 5:10 or so with no additional running outside of regualr Crossfit it works! I play tons of other sports at a hobby level: swimming, soccer, softball, ultimate frisbee, aggressive inline skating, skateboarding, biking (mtb and trick), paddleboarding, surfing, skimboarding, trampoline...and I'm always up for new sports!

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

Began at Crossfit Wright Patt at the end of 2010, got serious about it maybe 6 or 8 months later.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I do multiple workouts in a day 2x a week

I typically rest fewer than 4 days per month

I usually do 1 workout per day but if I go to a class in the morning I generally will do something after work as well. I don't have many true rest days where I do nothing, but I usually take it easy on weekends with fun workouts like trampoline stuff or skating/surfing/biking.

How long have you been doing CrossFit?
