I've been CrossFitting for a year, and it has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I may have turned 40 this year, but I'm in the best shape of my life. Thank you to Matt McCraney and the entire BOLT community for supporting me every step of the way on this awesome journey. 50 lbs lost and more strength gained than I can comprehend.
How I Eat
I eat strict Paleo
I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I eat 1-3 full cheat meals per week
I eat Paleo 80-90% of the time.
How I Train
I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate
I have a coach who determines my programming
I record my workouts
I go to CrossFit BOLT 5-6 times a week. I've become so addicted to CrossFit that when I'm travelling I'll go to an affiliate on the road. Also, my son and I loved doing beach WODs when we were in Florida last year. CrossFit isn't a workout program, it's a valuable part of my life.
My Athletic Background
I played youth or high school level sports
Besides CrossFit I coach girls lacrosse and incorporate much of the CF philosophy into the girls' training. This year I also completed my first sprint triathlon. I'm looking forward to the Tuff Mudder race coming up in October.
My Experience With CrossFit
I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)
I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit
Since starting CrossFit, my life has literally changed for the better in almost every way. I never thought I'd be able to wake up at 5:30am to workout, but now it's something I look forward to every single day. The program combined with the people are simply the perfect fit for me, and the results I've had over the last year speak for themselves.
My Work/Rest Schedule
I usually only do 1 workout a day
I typically rest 4 or more days per month
I go to CrossFit 5-6 times a week.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
Started in January 2012.
