Power Lifter turned CrossFitter! Over 12 years in competitive powerlifting and just in the last two years have found and fell in love with CrossFit. I will never go back! I originally posted some big squat (740lbs) and dead lift (600lbs) numbers because that is my PR's, but since CrossFitting I have changed my training, lifestyle and have endured some injuries. I feel CrossFit has given me a better out look and edge on life. I no longer just move heavy weight from one point to another, I now have gained so many more fitness skills!

How I Eat

I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount

Coming from a powerlifting back ground, dieting has been a challenge. Our family has always eaten healthy foods and watched what we eat, but now I try to stick with a paleo zone.

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I write my own programming

My whole life I have always wrote my own training plan. Now that I own my own CrossFit, my wife and I write them for everyone! My training right now has been hendered with a large back injury stemming from powerlifting, but I am determined to keep going and keep competing for the rest of my life!!!

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I played professional sports

I regularly play recreational sports

Growing up I played competitive soccer all over the nation. I am a goalie. I played for the US regional team as well as Washington East's program, my club team and all four years of High School. After high school I went on to try new things and found that I missed playing a whole lot. I tried and played for a USISL semi-pro team. At this time, I found I was a little out of shape and wanted to hit the gym hard. This brought me into my love of power lifting! I competed for almost 12 years in power lifting and have had great success. Here I met my wife, now of 9 years who also is a power lifter turned CrossFitter. She holds world records in the bench press and is a kick ass CrossFitter. We now have found a new way of life in Crossfit as well as owning our own box. We love this and our kids are now growing up in such a great atmosphere!!!

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit with a coach (e.g. at an affiliate)

I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course

I have attended one or more specialty courses

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit

I train other people

My wife decided to try CrossFit after having our first kid. During her first year I was still training at my powerlifting club. My training was not going to sustain a healthy life style so she drug me down to the local CF box and the first work out I did was FGB. I have never looked back.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I usually only do 1 workout a day

Right now my training is spuratic due to my back injury and all the stress from life. I have lately focused on training others in our gym and maybe with my back injury is my new outlook on life.

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

4+ years

Been training CrossFit for about 6 years now. I have enjoyed every minute of it and hope that my motivation for competition will pick up in the next couple of years.
