My twenty year career in athletic performance began with a BS in Exercise Science from The Ohio State University. Rooted in a foundation of performance-based periodized strength and conditioning, my professional skills and experiences have expanded to include long term strength development, strategic planning, fascial bodywork, and lifestyle fitness as attained through the CrossFit methodology. I am CrossFit Level 1 ANSI Certified, a NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, trained in Structural Integration bodywork, and am a four-time Winter Olympic sport coach previously working with athletes in the disciplines of bobsled & skeleton. During my 14 year Olympic coaching career, I helped athletes achieve over 60 World Cup medals, 12 World Championship medals, and 2 Olympic medals. My proudest coaching moment was coaching the 2006-2007 World Cup skeleton team, whose athletes earned 21 World Cup Medals along with 5 World Championships Medals (including a World Champion); the most successful team in USA skeleton history. In addition to my elite sport performance background, I completed the 200-hr yoga teaching certification with CorePower Yoga in 2011 and have taken both the CrossFit mobility and CrossFit gymnastics courses. In 2012 I began formal training in Structural Integration bodywork and intend to blend coaching and hands-on fascial manipulation to facilitate athletic improvements in body mechanics, pain management, functional mobility, and performance alignment. Following the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, I started CrossFit in Huntington Beach as a means to continue Olympic Lifting outside of the globo-gym environment. My first CrossFit WOD was "Death by Power Clean" and, being competitive by nature, I haven't looked back since.
