My name is Darnley Etienne and I started Cross Fit in September of 2013. After my very first class, I was hooked. In the beginning, Cross Fit was a supplement to my strength training. Its now the reverse where strength training is a supplement to Cross Fit. I personally struggle with some of the movements regularly because I have always focused strictly on strength training. Things like mobility and endurance was never anything I had to maintain. Honestly speaking, I am more interested in building strength than anything else and my body responds very quickly to strength training. Since I started Cross Fit, I have leaned out more than all of the years doing strength training. As a result, my muscle mass has slightly decreased. For the next few months, I’ll be placing more emphasis on strength while stepping up on Cross Fit.

I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount
I recently changed my diet plan to improve performance.

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

For most of my life I've strictly worked out with free weights. As a result, I never practiced any mobility or took endurance seriously. I'm slowly working through endurance and mobility problems. As much as I am committed to Cross Fit, I will never give up free weights. I am a firm believer in strength and I will bet the house on it. I try to make it to the gym about twice a week to maintain my incline/decline/flat bench strength. I also focus on leg strength as well. To sum it up, my training needs to get much better so I can be a better competitor.
