I am a Sgt with the Tulsa Police Dept and have been there for 22 years. I am the Recruit Training Supervisor at the Tulsa Police Academy and the Assistant Team Commander for the Special Operations Team. (On a side note, the Tulsa Police Dept has an affiliated CF gym, called, 'Crossfit 1907', started by Sgt. Eric Sokoloski. During the 28 weeks in the Police Academy, the 'PT' sessions for rookies, are primarily Crossfit based.) When I was 39 Years old, I tell People I had a Patriotic yet senile moment and signed up with the Oklahoma Army National Guard. I turned 40 the first week of bootcamp! I am currently the XO for a Infantry Company in the 45th IBCT. I was introduced to Crossfit in early 2006. By November 2006, my wife and I affiliated and started Crossfit Tulsa in a buddies home garage. The gym has moved around a couple times since then, and we are now in our 10th year. Between Police and Military obligations, kids and grandkids, the gym sometimes suffers, but we do the best we can to keep it going. For LEO and Military personnel there is nothing better then Crossfit.
