My Experience With CrossFit

I have had a life changing experience due to CrossFit

2013 Here I am, back again for the Open and loving it! CrossFit has continued to be my passion (just ask anyone who knows me!) and has continued to change my life. I am more committed to it now than ever. 2012 I came to CrossFit 6 months ago as an overweight, 40 year old who decided to refuse the notion that "this is just the way it is at your age". But I desperately needed direction in order to fight that erroneous perception. Enter CrossFit. When I first stepped into the box at Integrated CrossFit I was simultaneously thrilled and terrified. I felt completely beat up after every workout those first couple of weeks. But no matter how sore I was or how awkward it was for me to get through a workout in my out-of-shape body, I found myself anticipating the next workout. For the first time in my life I was pushing the physical limits of my body, and though it was hard, it was also exhilarating. And about 3 months into my journey it suddenly occurred to me that Crossfit is as much about mental conditioning as it is about physical conditioning. It's as much about losing the self-doubt as it is about losing fat. Gaining confidence in my ability, realizing I am capable of far more than I ever knew, is just as important as gaining muscle. So has CrossFit been life changing? If you consider changing around your body compostion, revolutionizing how you think, and refusing to accept mediocrity as life changing, then yes.
