Former UCLA Bruin pole vaulter and former Texas Longhorn graduate student. Had mitral valve repaired in 2010 via open heart surgery. Trains at CrossFit Central in Austin, Texas.


How I Eat

I eat quality foods but don't measure the amount

I eat 1-3 full cheat meals per week

I supplement with: Stronger Faster Healthier Recovery Whey Protein and Fish Oil Advocare Muscle Strength, Catalyst, O2 Gold, and NightTiime Recovery USANA Chelated Mineral, Procosa, and VitaminD As well as a B-Complex and Ferrous Sulfate Vitamin!

How I Train

I workout mostly at a CrossFit Affiliate

I have a coach who determines my programming

I record my workouts

I train with the CrossFit Central Gladiator Team under the programming of Michael Winchester. I am also coached by Spencer Arnold for the Olympic Lifts.

My Athletic Background

I played youth or high school level sports

I played college sports

I was a collegiate heptathlete and pole vaulter at UCLA. I was also a swimmer and water polo player in high school. I dabbled in rugby post-collegiately.

My Experience With CrossFit

I began CrossFit by trying it alone (without a coach)

I have completed the CrossFit Level 1 certificate course

I have attended one or more specialty courses

I train other people

I started CrossFit in late 2008 on my own in the weight room at UCLA. I found the site thanks to PK McDonald who grew up in Santa Cruz. I did my first WOD at an affiliate over Thanksgiving of 2008 at CrossFit East Sacramento. I attended the 2009 SoCal Regionals unattached and joined CrossFit Los Angeles in April of 2009. I competed at the 2010 SoCal Sectionals and won, only to be diagnosed with endocarditis and a heart murmur in April 2010. I under went open heart surgery in May 2010 and moved to Austin, TX for grad school in August 2010. I competed at the 2011 South Central Regional taking 7th place. I took 5th at the 2012 and 2013 South Central Regionals and I continue to enjoy competing! I completed the Level 1 Certification Course in the spring of 2011 and have attended the CrossFit Strongman, Striking, Self Defensed, and Olympic Lifting Specialty Courses. I am a coach at CrossFit Central Downtown in Austin and I am the Event Director and Facility Director for CrossFit Central Downtown. I was the co-chair of the Staff Services Committee at the CrossFit Games in 2013.

My Work/Rest Schedule

I do multiple workouts in a day 2x a week

I typically rest 4 or more days per month

I typically train Monday-Tuesday-Thursday-Friday- Saturday with rest on Wednesdays and Sundays.
